What we do

Cottonmount Workwear is a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality workwear for tradespeople, farmers, and industrial workers. Our past and present centres around honesty, reliability, and customer service.

Our story so far

From a small hardware shop to one of Ireland and the UK's leading workwear suppliers.

Early 1910's
John Quinn senior goes into business with a hardware shop in the shadow of Belfast’s famous Harland & Wolff shipyard.
Late 1920's
J Quinn & Co rapidly grows into a department store, selling everything from hardware and furniture, to clothing and Paraffin Oil.
1940's
Smaller shops opened at North Queen Street and Donegall Pass in Belfast
1959
Post World War II, large companies and shopping centres arrive in Belfast. The retail landscape changes and J Quinn & Co. decide to close their shops and become a wholesale agency.
1971
J Quinn & Co is established as a wholesaler mainly for menswear. First premises are at the rear of Park Road House, Belfast.
1974
Leonard Quinn takes over from his father John and the wholesale business flourishes. The company moves to new premises at Lady’s Road, Ravenhill.
1984
J Quinn & Co continues to grow in the menswear industry selling to clothing retailers. Move to new premises at Great Northern Street on the Lisburn Road, Belfast.
1984
J Quinn & Co becomes Cottonmount Trading and opens new purpose-built premises at Sealstown Rd, Mallusk.
2005
Cottonmount turns its whole focus to workwear taking on distributorships for Castle Clothing and Mack Boots.
2012
Reuben Quinn joins his father Leonard at the company started by his great grandfather.
2014
Reuben Quinn becomes Sales Director and spearheads a new vision for rebranding as CM Group.
2015
Cottonmount become exclusive distributors for Xpert.
2018
Reflecting the company’s core focus on workwear and greater retail support to partner retailers, CM Group rebrands to Cottonmount Workwear.
